Even if you are only showing high levels of a single toxin, it’s important to reduce exposure to all toxins, because every toxin burdens your detoxification system.
That said, one of my beliefs is that it’s impossible to avoid toxins in today’s world. They’re in the entire supply chain. You really think the milk in a “glass bottle” came out of the cow’s udder into a glass jar and was shipped in a glass jar? No chance.
To help eliminate toxins from the environment, I recommend buying mercury free seafood; filtering your air for mold, VOCs and allergens; eating organic; and filtering your water using a reverse osmosis system.
Beyond this, there are several other things which can harm your body’s ability to detox including excess alcohol; a diet high in sugar, trans fat, and polyunsaturated fat; medications like Tylenol, ibuprofen, NSAIDs, and anti-histamines; and obesity and poor metabolic health.
