Highly recommend Cotogna (good vibes and food). It’s hard to book at night, so lunch is also a shout
Itria’s great for Italian, and Flour + Water is meant to be good too
State Bird Provisions, Zuni, and Rich Table are meant to be classic Californian restaurants, but I haven’t been
La Taqueria (institutional Mexican place in the Mission)
Chome’s a legendary small Japanese restaurant (get there early)
Pizza Del Popolo or Montesacro Soma (came top 50 pizzas in world)
The whole 'Marina' suburb is nice at night. Restaurants like A16, Mamanoko, Roma Antica
Tartine Manufactory is excellent for pastries, coffee and food
Mazarine coffee is my favourite coffee in SF
Mourad (better in person than photos, which is true of most SF restaurants)
Quite a few cool places in Oakland too: The Wolf, Pomet, Belotti
De Young part of golden gate park
Walk from the ferry building along the water past all the piers all the way to the marina, and then onto the presidio and golden gate bridge
Or the non-walking version would be to catch the markets at the ferry building in the morn, then go to marina
